Xingshan Fluorite Mine | The First Fluorite Mine Discovered in Western Hubei Province
Recently, the Central South Institute of Metallurgical Geology discovered two medium to large mineral deposits in Yichang - Changyang Manganese Mine and Xingshan Fluorite Mine. These two deposits have achieved significant breakthroughs in manganese ore exploration in Hubei Province in the past 40 years and fluorite exploration in recent years, respectively, and have also enriched China's mineral resource reserves.
It is reported that in the Caijiashan Huanglianshan mining area of Xingshan County, the project team has discovered a total of 8 fluorite veins. Among them, vein I has the largest scale, with a length of about 1500 meters and a maximum depth of about 230 meters. The overall ore body is layered and lens shaped, and locally, fluorite is randomly distributed in a network like pattern. According to estimation, the inferred mineral quantity (CaF2) of the fluorite deposit submitted by the No. 1 ore body in the Caijiashan Huanglianshan mining area is 1.112 million tons, with an average grade (CaF2) of up to 33.53%, belonging to a large fluorite deposit.
Fluorite, as a valuable and non renewable strategic resource, is as important as rare earths and is one of the key minerals in China. The discovery of Xingshan fluorite mine is not only a major breakthrough in fluorite mineral exploration in Hubei Province in recent years, but also has doubled the fluorite mineral resources in Hubei Province, completely changing the pattern of no fluorite minerals in the western Hubei region. The results of this mineral exploration not only inject new vitality into the reserves of fluorite resources in Hubei Province, but also provide strong guarantees for the security of fluorite resources in the country.
